The 258 LP is a new model for Hino that has been introduced to accommodate the transportation needs of a wide variety of industries. The low profile design is optimized for applications such as furniture delivery, landscaping, towing, car carrying and the delivery of building materials and water bottles. Payload capability exceeds 12,000 lbs. Available wheel bases: 187 to 253 inches.

The 258 LP is equipped with the HINO 220 H.P. J-series OHC 4-valve turbocharged, intercooled 6-cylinder engine.

The Hino 258 LP comes standard with an Allison 2200 RDS automatic transmission. An Eaton FS5406A 6-speed manual transmission is available. Braking is accomplished through a hydraulic disc system with ABS or exhaust brake.

The 2008 Hino 258 LP comes standard with air-conditioning, cruise-control, tilt and telescopic steering, electric windows, AM/FM, CD player, a self-adjusting clutch, coil spring suspension seat, oil-lubricated front-wheel bearings, a 3-piece front bumper and a chrome grille.
